Queen - The Cosmos Rocks

He sido un fan de Queen desde que tengo memoria. Tengo todos sus discos, llené mis paredes con sus posters y no me los perdí cuando tocaron en Velez en 1981, y creo que fui uno de los primeros en comprar la entrada. La colgué en mi habitación, y la miraba todos los días esperando el gran día.

Cuando Freddie murió, lloré como si fuera un pariente mío. No porqué sí, sino porque me daba tanta pena que alguien tan talentoso se tuviera que ir tanto tiempo antes. Los pelotudos que salieron a juzgar su estilo de vida, son eso, pelotudos. Cambiaría a Freddie por la vida de cualquiera de esos imbéciles, si tuviera el poder para hacerlo. Sin Mercury, no había mas Queen en mi mente y en mi corazón para mí. De hecho ni siquiera seguí de cerca la carrera de May, ni de Taylor, y que yo sepa Deacon no hizo nada después de Queen.

Pero las heridas y las penas han quedado atrás. Y aunque puteé como loco porque Queen se unió con Paul Rodgers, con el argumento de que Queen es Freddie y sin él no hay Queen, acabo de terminar de escuchar el nuevo disco: "The Cosmos Rocks"

La música tiene el poder de cerrar heridas y meter el pasado adonde realmente pertenece, al pasado, a la historia, a lo que ya ha quedado atrás.

Entonces, bienvenido este nuevo disco de Queen + Paul Rodgers, haciendo notar ese "+", que hace ver que Rodgers no está acá para reemplazar a un irremplazable. Como el crítico de la BBC dice, Paul Rodgers es en sí mismo una leyenda y no tiene que pedir perdón por juntarse con dos monstruos de la música como lo son May y Taylor (John Deacon no es de la partida por decisión propia) y hacer un disco. Además, los fans de Bad Company estarán muy pendientes, y seguro encontrarán en "The Cosmos Rocks", mucho material para disfrutar.

El disco rockea como loco, y si fuera una banda nueva, todo el mundo estaría celebrando su aparición. Y al fin y al cabo, ¿quién corno soy yo para no unirme a la celebración?? El disco esta muy pero muy bueno, y con tanta basura saliendo de la radio hoy, un buen disco de rock siempre es aire fresco. Resaltan el primer single "C-lebrity", el tema que abre el disco "Cosmos Rockin", un futuro anthem como lo es "Time To Shine", y a mi me gustaron mucho dos baladas, "Small" y "We Believe".

Salud Queen, salud Paul Rodgers, salud a Freddie, que quería que Queen siguiera, y así lo expresó antes de irse.

Y Queen siguió.
